What a year it has been... So what have you achieved the past year? Me??? Nothing, as usual.......
Vink was waiting for this entry, so here goes... But I seriously doubt she even has my addy... :S
So what did we have for dinner? Very, very expensive cze char....

No, I'm very sure we had cze char. Ok, maybe with a tint of Japanese flavour...
This is 面线汤. Very expensive 面线 with scallop, crab (not crab stick), prawns and some seafood la. I can safely say that this is very homemade... I think I might be able to cook the same standard, given the expensive ingredients. Very strong carrot taste... Expensive carrots, maybe...
炒白菜 with mushrooms and carrots... Need I say more? Salty like any other Japanese food lor...
I MUST, MUST, MUST give credits to the service though. The moment I stepped in, I was greeted with all the "welcome" in Jap by ALL the waiters. When I said all, I literally meant ALL... Like ALL 10-ish of them?!!?!? Made me stressed out man... :S I was trying hard to look for Ilysia and family who were hiding in their cosy corner upstairs... All of them eager to show me to where they were sitting... Super scary can??!!? But their service was really excellent. The waitress took time to explain the cze char dishes to us and laughed at our sick cze char jokes... And I think ALL of them understood jap. They were watching some jap program downstairs while we dine upstairs and suddenly all of them laughed with the TV. Amazed lor... But the good thing was that I think their attention wasn't compromised despite them watching TV. Overall, a very nice place to dine and wine in, if you don't mind the expensive price tag (for the kind of food - cze char. Yes, I must stress once and again it's cze char... :S). Very nice wooden and zen decor too!
We had some chicken grill. Didn't leave any impression on me... The bill came up to around $65 (no idea above or under).
And then we moved on to our next location for dessert...

Or should I say AURENT BENARD??? At least that's what their ice-cream push cart says... I believe their "L" dropped... :S
ANYWAY, back to the topic... I think half of Singapore has been here, but not us despite staying across the river and road. You'll find more of me at the side of the river where Kith and Gallery are... :S Ok I'm still not on topic....
Here's Mrs and Miss Lee with their order of toffee and chocolate ice cream. Forgive me with all the weird names I came up with today as I had no intension of remember them or blogging... Both ice-cream flavours were good. The chocolate one was slightly too dense and sweet for me though but none the less still good. Love the whip cream too. Think I can eat it on its own, if not for fear of gaining weight, and diabettes... The chocolate chip balls which pop as you bite them was a very interesting fusion. Like that crunch with the smooth ice-cream. The only problem with this was that this ice-cream melted even before it was served to us. Not solid enough... And the chocolate bar was ermm... terrible... Very manufactured tasting... :S
The rum and raisin souffle was AMAZING! May I say that it's worth the half hour wait??? I didn't even need the milk. It was good on its own. The alcohol was just intense! We had 6 thumbs up from me, Vink and Ivan. I have a thing for less sweet and warm desserts because I feel they are harder to make than cold and sweet ones. And this just got to the top of my list of MUST-TRY the moment I place the spoon in my mouth. Woo-hoo!!!
